This event is jointly hosted by the Radio Independents Group, BECTU, NUJ and the BBC. It has been set up under the auspices of the Radio Industry Diversity Group.
Date: Thursday 29th January 2009
Time: 11am – 5pm plus drinks afterwards. Lunch included
Venue: Congress House, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS
The purpose of this day is to bring black and ethnic minority professionals together with executives from independent radio production companies to provide professional advice and guidance, create new contacts and networks and break down barriers that too many ethnic minority workers experience in the creative industries.

Saddam Hussein is dead, but should a bunch of celebrity newspaper reviewers really feel sorry for a murderous despot?

On the eve of Gordon Brown’s premiership, Liz Green of BBC Radio Leeds wants to know, “Aren’t we all just a bunch of political cynics?”
Fortunately for me, I have far greater hopes for our high-minded prime minister Mister Brown than I did for his warmongering predecessor Blair. Let’s see just where it gets us.
