Are you interested in a career working in Locations?
Have you got two years of experience within the film industry?
Are you looking to improve your chances of employment in the Locations Sector?
Film London is delighted to announce that the innovative Assistant Location Managers (ALMT) training course is now open for applications.
The ground-breaking course is the first vocational training programme developed for the locations sector. It was piloted in 2006/7 and is supported by Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for Creative Media. The course was developed to meet the needs of assistant location managers and other production staff wishing to pursue a career as locations manager.
The Course lasts six months with intensive workshops and seminars taking place over six weekends from January - June 2009. Students will work their way through set assignments and homework, working closely with a working locations manager, acting as mentor.
Upon completion of the course the ALMT graduates will have gained the experience and skills necessary to perform competently within the locations department, with the core skills required to ultimately progress into the role of location manager. In its pilot year the course proved a great success, with participants using the knowledge and contacts they gained during the programme to access new jobs within the TV and film industries.
Deadline for applications has been extended to 5pm Monday 3rd November 2008
